Every year in May the Pioneer Women’s Trail Walk leaves from the Academy in Hahndorf, celebrating the pioneer women who walked from Hahndorf village to Beaumont to sell produce grown in the fertile soils of the Adelaide Hills. This year over 1000 walkers took part in the 24 kilometre trek from the Academy, or the shorter trek from Bridgewater or Stirling, enjoying the sunshine and the beautiful scenery along the way.
